Surgery remains the main modality of treatment and only hope of cure.

Chemotherapy is usually administered (With or without radiotherapy) after surgery or if the disease has spread beyond the confines of pancreas. The drug administered is Gemcitabine. The addition of a targeted molecule erlotinib (Tarceva) improves the survival further.
